A Message from Our Founder
Hello, I’m Hussain Jiwani, founder of DISH 11+ Tuition Services. My journey into tutoring began in 2002 when I faced the same overwhelming challenge that many parents do—navigating the complex world of secondary school admissions for my daughter. In 2008, when my daughter was ready to apply to secondary school, I had no prior experience or knowledge about how to guide her through this process. As I delved deeper, I came across grammar schools and realized that preparing for the 11+ exams would give her the best chance at success.
Our History
From One Parent’s Journey to a Thriving Tutoring Service
With only two months left before the exam, I dedicated myself to working with her intensively. Together, we put in hours of hard work, determination, and focus. To our great joy, she not only passed the 11+ but was among the top 3 girls admitted to Woodford County High School. That moment was a turning point for me. It made me realise how crucial it is for parents and children to have proper guidance and support during this challenging process.
After my daughter’s success, word spread throughout our local community in Waltham Forest, and I began helping other children prepare for the 11+. Over the years, as more families saw their children succeed and gain entry to top grammar and private schools, demand for my services grew. By 2009, DISH 11+ Tuition Services was born.
Our Growth and Family Values
Since then, our success has continued to grow, helping children from all over the UK gain admission to some of the country’s top schools. We have since expanded our services to include preparation for the 7+, as well as general English and Maths tuition, up to A-levels. What started as a one-person endeavour has now become a family business, with my own children joining the team and bringing their expertise and passion for education to the table. I have passed on years of knowledge and experience to them, and together we have continued to provide the highest standard of tutoring.
Our Unique Approach
One thing that sets DISH apart is that I have never employed external tutors. I have personally curated our teaching courses from scratch, developing them through years of experience and constant review. Each year, I study how schools’ exam content evolves, ensuring our materials are up-to-date and that our students are always prepared for the latest requirements.
